Olam International Limited and the Russian Dairy Company (Rusmolco) have officially announced the beginning of an unprecedented strategic partnership for the development of dairy farming and crop production in the Penza region. According to the partners' estimates, the total value of RUSMOLCO reaches $ 130 million. The joint venture is expected to become the largest milk producer in Russia and enter the top 10 milk producers in the world. News from Russia allowed Olam International to increase capitalization by 2.8% on the day of the transaction against the background of a general market decline in Singapore. According to experts, the instantaneous capitalization growth of $ 140 million, twice the volume of the Singapore company's initial investment in RUSMOLCO, demonstrates extremely positive assessments of the prospects for a joint project in Russia by global investors. Olam is not a newcomer to the Russian market. The company has been present in Russia since 1993, engaged in production, trade in the domestic market.
